The satellite idea came about as an alternative to overcome these obstacles.” The club currently includes members from Lino Lakes in the north metro to South St. Greg Bartz, longtime member of the Rotary Club of White Bear Lake who was critical in the Northeast Metro club’s founding, expresses the history and mission of the club this way, “Over the years I’ve come across potential Rotarians that our Rotary Club (the White Bear Lake club) couldn’t accommodate, due to meeting schedule conflicts and cost. Although the original focus of the Northeast Metro club was to serve the diverse community in the northeastern corner of the Twin Cities metro area, the club is not bound by geography. The Satellite Club of White Bear Lake-Northeast Metro is a club within the Rotary Club of White Bear Lake. ![]() Tuesday, OctoNovember 2023 marks the 18-month anniversary of one of District 5960’s most unique clubs.
